Tata Hyd Unit Delivers 300th Apache Fuselage

Hyderabad: Tata Boeing Aerospace Limited (TBAL) has achieved a significant milestone by delivering the 300th fuselage for the AH-64 Apache attack helicopter from its cutting-edge facility in Hyderabad. These fuselages are supplied to customers worldwide, including the US Army, and the Indian Army, which has six Apaches on order. The Indian Air Force already operates a fleet of 22 AH-64E Apache helicopters.
The achievement underscores the company’s commitment to strengthening India's defence manufacturing capabilities and advancing the country’s indigenous aerospace industry. A joint venture between Boeing and Tata Advanced Systems Limited, the company employs over 900 engineers and technicians, utilising state-of-the-art robotics, automation, and advanced aerospace manufacturing technologies.
Spanning 14,000 square meters, the company’s local facility is the sole global supplier of Apache fuselages. Notably, over 90 percent of the parts used in Apache aerostructure assemblies are manufactured in India, supported by more than 100 MSMEs. This reflects India’s growing self-reliance in defence production and its expanding role in the global aerospace supply chain.
